"Enthralling Earth"

We're diving into the new term with our topic, "Enthralling Earth." We've already jumped in with some exciting workshops, including Dino-Mania, Mad Science, and the BBC Now orchestra. The children have been exploring how earthquakes are created and the impact they have on our world.

In our science and technology, we'll be delving into data related to earthquakes and learning about electricity and electrical circuits. During literacy sessions, we'll focus on poetry based on 'The Deathly Menace', explanation texts, and revisiting non-chronological report writing.

We're looking forward to our residential trips to Morfa Bay (Y5) and Llangrannog (Y6) later this term!  We love these trips as they give everyone a chance to try lots of new activities.

A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 Young Voices choir for their amazing visit to the O2 – what an unforgettable experience! We also celebrated a successful football tournament and are enjoying weekly Bible Explorer workshops with Alun.

If you have any concerns or need to get in touch, please email us at the school office email: LlansannorPS@valeofglamorgan.gov.uk .

"A world full of journeys"

Welcome back to the Autumn term!  Our learners in PS3 have been buzzing with energy, ready for all the adventures we have planned.  We are looking forward to a visit to see 'The Welsh Dragon' at Barry Memo, a variety of Urdu sports tournaments and   Year 4 will be heading off for their residential in Cardiff Bay.

Our new topic is a “World full of journeys”  where we will explore our diverse world!  In PS3, we will embark on a fascinating journey to understand and appreciate the diverse world we live in. We will begin by exploring maps, using them to identify both human and physical features of various places. Through activities, children will compare Wales with other countries, discovering unique cultural and geographical differences.  An important part of our journey includes examining the human impact on the world. Children gain insights into how people shape and are shaped by their environments.  We will also explore how food is integral to different religions and cultures, fostering a deep appreciation for diversity.  Our literacy lessons bring the world to life through narrative and poetry writing, where children can creatively express their ideas.  In mathematics, we will be focusing on place value and the four operations.  We will explore opportunities to use our numeracy skills across the curriculum through work on patterns, maps, climate and populations.

We will be finishing our topic by hosting a museum sharing event where you will be able see work the children have completed over the term.
