Year 1 and 2 had a fantastic time on our outdoor learning afternoon! We applied our impasto painting skills by using natural materials to change the texture of the paint. We also went for a scavenger hunt, using our knowledge of measurement and textures to find things in our environment. We loved working interdependently to create our dinosaur and animal houses. We also worked really hard weeding and watering to look after our raised beds and plants in the polytunnel. Phew! What a fun time!

Pony Club success! Reception pupil enjoyed sharing her news that she has completed the Pony Club E test.
What a fantastic day to end our half term. We had a lovely morning listening to why we chose to dress the way we did today. We are all so wonderful and unique. We also had an amazing time watching a magic show. A morning filled with fun and laughter. Have a great break everyone!









Year 2 have continued to work on their Impasto art skills. We used all the things we have learnt about texture to make our own dinosaur landscape. We used different techniques to make different parts thick and bumpy.

This week, reception used AI to transform their dinosaur descriptions into pictures, bringing their imaginations to life! We also embraced Valentine's Day with fun activities, sharing kindness and creativity in our celebrations.
PS1 showed their love for nature by decorating hearts with seeds for the birds and hanging them up in Forest School!
Our mathematicians attended another competition at St Bride’s CiW Primary School they competed incredibly well! Da Iawn ti!

Show Jumping Success!

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate the incredible success of one of our talented pupils at Llansannor & Llanharry CiW Primary School!
Our young horse rider recently competed in a prestigious competition in Cheshire and has now progressed to the next step. We are immensely proud of their hard work, determination, and the incredible skill they have demonstrated.

Reception have had a busy week!
Year 1 have been exploring percussion instruments and using them to make different sounds. Today, we also celebrated Dydd Miwsig Cymru. The children made some wonderful posters and listened to some welsh songs!

Quad Racing Success!




Fantastic success for this Year 5 pupil. In his first year of moving up to this class, he placed 4th overall in the 2024 100cc std quad Championship. It’s a competitive class which includes 11 to 12 year old riders from all over the UK. Da iawn ti!

Young Ambassador Day
Our First Minister and Deputy First Minister had a very informative day at the Civic Offices in Barry. We learnt about the role of the Children's Commissioner and how our voices are heard in Parliament.

Gwaith Gwych Blwyddyn 4
Blwyddyn 4 have worked incredibly hard this week, making and labelling volcanoes, exploring explanation texts, developing spreadsheet skills and discussing the chartiable work of World Jewish Relief. Gwaith ardderchog pawb.
Young Voices Home Concert!
What a wonderful concert with Llangan Primary School, a real celebration of music and collaboration! Our talented choirs performed together to entertain our family and friends. we were delighted to make this happen so that those who could not attend the O2 arena could listen to our fabulous songs!

We were feeling the love in Blwyddyn 3 a 4 today as we celebrated Diwrnod Santes Dwynwen in style. We crafted symbols of love with nails and hammers, produced humorous ecards, set the story's emotions to a line graph and designed our own llwyau gariad (love spoons).

Year 2 had a fantastic time in our Mad Science workshop. We learnt about volcanoes, different types of rocks and even had a go at protecting a town from an explosion!
Nursery - Spring Term
Hair donation!
Well done to this year 3 pupil who donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust. Not only will her hair be made into a wig for those who need it, but she also raised £325 for the charity. We are so proud of you!

Blwyddyn 4 have brought their Journeys around Africa topic to a close this week with some fantastic non-chronological report writing on Africa, and these amazing safari lodges; putting their knowledge of structures, struts and bracing to the test to create superb models!
Tournament Pel-droed
In the same week that Wales' amazing women's football team qualified for the Euros, our own dragons of Llansannor fought fiercely in a fantastic festival of footballing fun at Cardiff and Vale Schools Football Association in Cardiff! Gwych merched!
Partner work with local school
Criw Cymraeg thoroughly enjoyed their walk down to our Welsh-medium partner school, Ysgol Llanhari last week, where pupils saw how Cymraeg was used across all areas of the school and were even treated to a reading session from the 'Dreigiau Doeth'! Diolch yn fawr iawn Ysgol Llanhari.

We are so proud of this year 4 pupil playing her first solo piano piece at the Welsh St Donats Christmas Concert. She represented Llansannor Primary with pride! Da iawn ti!
Competition Success
Another gold medal winning performance for our Year 6 champion!
He took part in the British Open NoGi BJJ championship and came away with first place. Da iawn British champion!
Holy Cross Church building!
PS2 have worked so well collaboratively this week to design, create and evaluate structures. We used our knowledge of the church to build Holy cross and features of the inside.
Godly Play
Rev Angela visited PS2 to tell us the story of Jonah and the Whale which linked to our value term's of perseverance. We then reflected on things that we would persevere with over the next few weeks.
PS2 Church visit
PS2 enjoyed exploring Holy Cross Church to learn more about its features. We worked together to do a treasure hunt and asked Rev Angela brilliant questions. We are using our learning to write a fact file or non-chronological report about the church that we can leave there for others to learn more.
Tournament pel-droed
Our footballers had an excellent day yesterday at the Cardiff and Vale football tournament. Thank you to Miss Hurley and Mr Eden for helping to coach our team. Also thank you to Mr Morris for organising for us to go and choosing the team.
Maths Competition
We are so proud of our 'mathletes' who came 2nd in last nights Rural vale maths competition. Diolch to Mrs Sibley who took our competitors to St Bride's and thank you to Mr Mottram for organising.
Youth COP
Fantastic experience for the Llansannor Eco committee last week, who visited Youth COP conference in Cardiff to learn about the issues surrounding Climate Change and how it is affecting the Wampis Nation in Peru.

Mosque visit
Yesterday, blwyddyn 6 and blwyddyn 4 were given a warm welcome to the Al-Manar Centre and Mosque in Cardiff. There we experienced the movements and wordings islamic prayer, and discussed our thoughts with the wonderful staff and Imam there. Diolch yn fawr!
