Welcome to Year 6 - Croeso i Flwyddyn 6!
We (Mr Pearce, Mrs Grandfield, Mrs Otley and Mrs Jones) are all excited for what could be the classes first full year back in education for quite some time! We believe our topic will give your children plenty of opportunities to enjoy school life whilst full engaging in the new curriculum.
This Term's Topic: The Water of Life
With the value of Generosity firmly at the heart of our Autumn activities, we take a reflective journey through the Christian creation story exploring its links to the other cultures and religions, while asking ourselves the big questions.
Alongside this we are discovering how, many years ago Scott and Shackleton battled through the elements to discover fully the Antarctic. Whilst looking at the impact that we are having on both the Artic and Antarctic through global warming. In particular how influential Greta Thunberg has been on a worldwide scale.
We will be doing this through a plethora of forms; in art, music, sport, literature to name a few.
Homework is uploaded to our Google Classroom which can be accessed with your HWB logins (sent home at the beginning of term). There, you'll find a weekly activities maths mainly but we will also be having homework surrounding our topic.
PE sessions take place on Wednesdays with Mr Smith. Please ensure your child has kit on these days. It takes place in the morning so they can come into school wearing their kit if they wish.
