Year 3

Welcome to Year 3 - Croeso i Flwyddyn 3!
Happy New Year!  Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!

We hope you have had an enjoyable Christmas holiday together with your families.  We're excited to hear all about your holidays and what you have been up to.  We are looking forward to get stuck into our next topic, ‘Traders and Raiders’ with you. We can't wait to have lots of fun and take part in lots of new learning experiences with you.

This term we will be exploring the Vikings in our topic 'traders and raiders'.  We will be reading a range of books linked to Vikings.  We will writing our own stories based the book 'Star in a jar' and writing non-chronological reports on the human body. During the topic will be exploring; who the vikings were? How and why they travelled to the shores of Wales? What impact did their arrival have on Wales?  We will look at the lifestyle and customs of the Anglo Saxon and Vikings.

In maths we will continue to build on our place value, addition and subtraction knowledge.  We will also be learning about multiplication, fractions, money and length.

We will be focusing on embedding the Curriculum for Wales 4 purposes in our topic by being ambitious, capable learners, enterprising, creative contributors, ethical, informed citizens and healthy, confident individuals.

Please see below for our Spring topic overview.
